    Equipment & Material Library

Major LV equipment, protection, wiring and accessories - one product/assembly standard shown per card. Installation, IP and related standards live in the Standards Finder.

Manufacturer / factory certifications - why these matter

These are company-level management-system certifications, not product standards. They tell you how the manufacturer runs its business - not whether a specific product meets IEC 61439, EN 54, or any other technical standard above. Check them during vendor prequalification and submittal review, alongside - never instead of - the product-specific evidence.

    Containment & Installation Accessories

Click an item. The panel shows what an engineer should physically inspect on site.

What to look for on site

    • Material grade and thickness
    • Galvanizing / PVC duty
    • Correct couplers, bushes and entries
    • Support spacing and anchor method
    • Earthing / bonding where applicable
    • Segregation and fire stopping

    Installation Tools & Test Instruments

What it is, where it's used, and what it verifies.

    Fire Alarm & Life Safety

Device library + cause & effect simulation. Test the approved cause & effect, not only individual devices.

Fire alarm code basis - keep the roles separate

UAE / Dubai: UAE Fire & Life Safety Code of Practice 2018, Chapter 8 + Civil Defence requirements.
System design / installation / testing: NFPA 72 where adopted by the project / authority.
Equipment product compliance: the specific EN 54 part for each device, not just "EN 54".
Interface operation: approved Cause & Effect Matrix and Fire & Life Safety strategy.
Important: NFPA 72 and EN 54 do different jobs. Do not show them as interchangeable certificates for the same device.

    Emergency Lighting & Central Battery

Visualize normal supply failure and emergency operation.

    Emergency lighting code basis

Important: a luminaire certificate covers the product. It does not by itself confirm the layout, lux levels or autonomy required for this specific space - that comes from the design standard and the project's fire & life safety strategy.

    ENGINEER’S NOTE
Check the approved emergency-lighting layout, maintained/non-maintained operation, monitoring, battery autonomy and required illumination against the project and authority criteria.

    ELV Systems

Switchgear & Busbar - Design Verification (IEC 61439)

Choose the assembly, trace the evidence against the report, and record the gaps. Field guide only - final sign-off remains with the responsible engineer.

1 · Identify the proposed assembly

Different original and assembly manufacturers can be legitimate. Trace the design owner's instructions, authorized construction and responsibility for deviations.

    2 · Component map

Click a component to see what to check on it.

    3 · Numerical / identity screen

Compare project requirement, proposed value, and what the evidence actually covers.

Example uses an AC assembly with Icw/Ipk declarations. For conditional short-circuit rating Icc, obtain the exact protective device, settings, prospective fault and limitation evidence - this screen does not evaluate that route.

    4 · Trace the evidence

Electrical & ELV Codes, Standards & Compliance Guide

Explore electrical and ELV codes, equipment standards, material references and practical compliance workflows for engineering design and site review.

    Topics you can explore

    • Electrical compliance checklist
    • Electrical equipment standards
    • ELV material review

    Practical engineering example

For a material submission, check the exact product standard and project requirement. A certificate for one component does not automatically establish compliance of the full assembly.
