Not sure which lab you need? Ask the Copilot.Type your question in the search box above and choose “Ask the Copilot”, or open it directly. It finds the right lab and tab, answers from our engineering Q&A and site case library, and runs the calculation in 2D, 3D and 4D.

MEPVirtual is a free set of interactive engineering labs, calculators and reference tools for electrical, ELV, HVAC, plumbing and fire systems, built from real project work in the Gulf, Australia and New Zealand. Nothing is locked, nothing needs an account, and every lab shows its formulas, its assumptions and its limits rather than returning a number you cannot check.
Most modules run in 2D, 3D and 4D, and several go to 5D with cost and carbon, so you can watch a system behave, step through an assembly sequence or play a fault out in milliseconds instead of reading about it. Coverage runs from switchgear design and IEC 61439 verification, busbar risers, wiring diagrams, cable and containment sizing, earthing and lightning protection, generators, UPS, central battery systems and solar PV, through HVAC plant, diagnostics and commissioning, to CCTV, BMS, structured cabling, public address and fire alarm design.
Authority routes are covered for DEWA, SEWA, ADDC, AADC, EtihadWE, Kahramaa and SEC, alongside AS/NZS, IEC, BS EN, NFPA and ASHRAE practice. The Exam Lab carries timed licensing practice for DEWA, SEWA, Abu Dhabi, EtihadWE, Australian AS/NZS 3000, NZ EWRB registration and CPEng readiness, and the Copilot answers from a library of engineering questions and real site fault cases. Start with a module card, open “Explore inside” to see what a lab contains, or ask the Copilot if you are not sure where to begin.
Cable and breaker selector, switchboard builder and an independent regulations reference for DEWA, SEWA, Abu Dhabi and EtihadWE.
DEWA submissions get rejected for the same recurring reasons - this exists so cable and breaker selection matches the authority's own rules the first time.
Track testing and commissioning from first energisation to handover, with witness records and a printable report.
Testing and commissioning paperwork is usually reconstructed after the fact from memory - this tracks it live, system by system, so the report writes itself.
Thirty modules, fifteen calculators and thirty-eight drawings covering earthing, bonding, IEEE 80 grids and lightning protection.
Earthing and lightning protection design spans dozens of scattered standards and calculations - this brings the IEEE 80 step/touch/grid resistance math, drawings and standards into one portal engineers can actually work through.
Ask in plain words. It finds the right lab and tab, answers from the reference libraries and runs the calculation in 2D, 3D and 4D.
Junior engineers need a second pair of eyes that's always available - describe the load in plain language and get a transparent, checkable calculation back.
Thousands of engineering questions and answers across design, site and commissioning, searchable by trade and stage.
3,166 questions means someone doesn't have to ask the same thing twice - a searchable knowledge bank across every discipline on this site, leveled for where you are in your career.
Service coordination and clash detection with clearance rules, priority logic and reroute options in 3D.
Clashes found on-site cost far more than clashes found in the model - a real spatial engine plus a BIM coordination primer for teams still building that habit.
Authority and registration exams are where good engineers lose months to a resit - sit a realistic timed paper, see exactly why each answer is right, and walk in knowing your weak topics.
Build specification sections for electrical and building services, with options, standards and export to Word.
Writing a tender specification from an old project file means hours of find-and-replace and outdated standards slipping through - answer a few questions and start from a clean, current, project-neutral document instead.
Central battery systems and emergency lighting: battery sizing, autonomy, circuit voltage drop and a submittal checklist.
Emergency lighting is checked once at handover and then forgotten - this lab makes the autonomy, battery and voltage-drop math visible before the submittal is approved.
Six linked design labs on one page: jurisdiction rules, cooling load, cable and breaker sizing, IEEE 80 earthing and drainage.
Trades are usually sized in separate spreadsheets that never talk to each other - here the fan from the HVAC load becomes the feeder, the cable becomes the tray and the condensate becomes the drain.
Every calculator, checklist and interactive diagram across the labs, grouped by tool. Click a card to open that tool, then use the tab or section named on it.
Standalone software tools built alongside the site. Run locally on your own machine.

Give it a floor plan (PDF, image or DXF) and it places access points, predicts coverage, and writes a full design proposal: signal, SINR and redundancy heatmaps, an AP schedule, cabling/PoE plan, bill of materials and a client-ready PDF.
