E-135 · AUTHORITY SUBMISSION PACK BUILDER

Build your authority submission pack in minutes

Enter the project once. The lab works out the connected load, maximum demand, transformers and substation, fault level, main cables and voltage drop, standby generator and power factor correction, then draws the single line diagram and lists what the authority will ask for. Every figure is live, so change an input and the whole pack updates.

DEWADEWA Regulations 2017Concept and load application stage

1. Choose the authority and describe the building

Start with the authority. It sets the supply voltage, standard transformer sizes, voltage drop limit and the approval steps. Then give the building basics. Everything else starts at a typical value you can change later.

Services and design settings

Advanced settings (defaults suit most projects)

Live elevation

Floors, basement, substation and rising mains redraw as you type.

2. Connected load to maximum demand

Each load group is estimated from floor area and services, then multiplied by its diversity factor. Drag a slider to change a diversity factor and watch the maximum demand move.

Load summary

Thumb rules are the same calibrated values used in E-129. Replace them with the real load schedules (E-134 Load Schedule Auditor) as the design develops.

3. Single line diagram

Drawn from your inputs: authority MV supply, ring main unit, transformers, main LV boards, the essential board with generator and ATS, and every main feeder. Tap any item for its rating and the reason behind it.

Tap a symbol

The transformer, ACB, busduct and feeder details appear here, with the rule that sized them.

4. 3D building and supply

Orbit the building, see the substation at ground level, the rising mains and how much demand each riser carries. Press Energise to watch the supply come on floor by floor.

Drag to orbit, pinch or scroll to zoom.

5. Main feeders, protection and voltage drop

Each feeder is sized for its demand current, derated for ambient temperature and grouping, then checked for voltage drop. If the drop is over budget, the next size up is picked automatically. Edit any length or load to see the effect.

6. Approval timeline (4D)

The usual path from load application to energisation for the selected authority. Durations are typical and editable. Press Play to walk through the stages.

7. Submission checklist

What a typical load application and design approval needs for the selected authority. Items marked IN PACK are produced by this lab. Tick the rest as you collect them.

8. Download the pack

Preview the pages below, then save them as a PDF from the print dialog, download the Excel workbook with live formulas, or take the single line diagram as an image.

About this lab: Authority Submission Pack Builder

Authority Submission Pack Builder

Build a DEWA, ADDC, SEWA or NZ load application pack: maximum demand, transformers, fault level, SLD, cable and VD schedule, checklist and timeline.

Topics you can explore

  • DEWA, ADDC, SEWA and EtihadWE load applications
  • Total connected load, diversity and maximum demand
  • Transformer, substation and fault level checks
  • Main cable, busduct and voltage drop schedules
  • Network operator connection applications in New Zealand and Australia

Practical engineering example

A 32-storey residential tower with retail and district cooling: enter the GFA, floors, basements and EV chargers, read the maximum demand and the transformer count, check the rising main voltage drops, then print the pack and tick off the owner documents still needed.

Developed by Eng. Mannan Maqsood. Verify design outputs against current project requirements and the applicable authority and manufacturer data.

Standards and regions covered

Built around DEWA Regulations for Electrical Installations, Abu Dhabi DoE Electricity Wiring Regulations (ADDC / TAQA Distribution), SEWA requirements in Sharjah, BS 7671, IEC 60364 and AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules). Engineers use it on projects in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, and in Auckland, the rest of New Zealand and Australia. Always confirm the edition your authority or client has adopted before relying on a result.
