Green Building Compliance Checker
A readiness checklist of the MEP items behind Dubai Al Sa'fat, Abu Dhabi Estidama Pearl and New Zealand Green Star. Mark each item done, partly done or not yet, see the score by category, the mandatory items still open and which MEPVirtual lab helps you close each one.
How to use: pick the scheme and the current design stage, then set each item. Items not used by the chosen scheme are hidden. This is a readiness check, not a certification. Tap i for help.
1. Inputs
2. Readiness
Score by category, a 3D building coloured by category and the readiness path through the design stages.
3. Checks
4. Open items and where to work on them
Mandatory items first.
5. How it works
The three schemes
Al Sa'fat is the Dubai Municipality green building rating system, with tiers from Bronze (minimum for new buildings) up to Platinum. Estidama's Pearl Building Rating System in Abu Dhabi requires 1 Pearl for all new buildings (2 Pearls for government buildings), and every mandatory credit must be met before any optional credit counts. Green Star in New Zealand, run by the NZGBC, is voluntary and rated in stars.
Where MEP fits
Most energy, water, indoor environment and many management credits sit with the MEP team: efficient cooling plant, VSDs, lighting power and controls, sub-metering, ventilation rates, refrigerants, water efficient fixtures, condensate and solar hot water, EV charging and commissioning.
Using the checker
Mark each item as you go through the design. The score is the share of applicable items done (partly done counts half). Mandatory items are flagged so they are never left to the end. The stage view shows where you should be by now if items are closed at the stage they normally belong to.
Readiness guide only. Item names are simplified and do not reproduce scheme credit wording or thresholds. Use the current scheme manual and an accredited assessor for the real assessment.
